During biofeedback treatment, physiological parameters such as muscle tension, skin resistance, heart rate and temperature are derived and correlated through a computer program with a graphical animation or acoustic signals. The patient can therefore see or hear changes in his state of tension. The method is evidence-based and works great for migraines, tension headaches, incontinence and pain syndromes. One particular application is the biofeedback treatment for heart rate variance (difference between systolic period in inhalation and exhalation). This allows to affect positively high blood pressure and coronary heart disease.
